What?

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings had some great things to say about Apple, WarnerMedia, Disney+ and NBCUniversal’s impending incursion into the streaming services market. “Our success doesn’t determine their success…We will make this a better industry if we have better competitors.”

He made a point to single out Apple specifically, labeling them as a “great company”.

Why?

Hastings helms the best-positioned streaming service in the world. His statements can be seen as confident posturing ahead of a likely all-out Streaming Wars that will welcome a litany of well-established production studios into the fold.

When?

The praise was delivered during a get-together at the Netflix HQ, last week.

Who/Where?

Hastings is the co-founder of Netflix. He started the company with Marc Randolph in 1997.

Netflix’s HQ is in Los Angeles, California.
