What?

In a move that sent shockwaves through the industry, Netflix (NASDAQ: NFLX) has hired David Kosse to head its own International Films division.

Why?

Netflix has been long speculated to begin focusing on non-English film acquisition and production. With operations in Amsterdam, London, Mumbai, Singapore, Japan and many more locations around the world, a strong, experienced industry figure was required to lead its efforts – which led to the newly-minted position’s inception.

When?

Kosse will take on the role since April.

Who/Where?

David Kosse is now STX’s former head of International Film. He worked from the company since June 2016, where he oversaw international strategy for marketing and distribution for STX’s films.

He will now be based in Netflix’s London offices.
